Try locally, buy when you go live
We want you to evaluate CalacaCMS properly — templates, fields, editorial flow, and integrations — before you commit. You can install and run the CMS on your machine (and typical dev hostnames) without purchasing a license first.
What is allowed during evaluation
- Install CalacaCMS and build real content models and themes on localhost / 127.0.0.1.
- Use team workflows (Git branches, CI) that do not serve paying users on a public production domain.
- Share screenshots and demos from dev environments with stakeholders.
When you need a license
As soon as you deploy to a public production site that uses CalacaCMS for commercial purposes, you should have a valid commercial license (or an approved nonprofit / education grant). The exact hostname rules and enforcement mechanics will ship with the product and your end-user license agreement.
Staging servers
If you use a public staging hostname, check your license or order to see whether it is covered. When in doubt, confirm before you deploy — policies can differ by plan.
